Last Christmas, two men still held my heart. Took forever but I finally got over them. And I finally found the “someone special” that Wham! wrote about in “Last Christmas”.
I knew eventually I’d find that someone special. Let’s face it – I wasn’t built to be single. I simply didn’t realize how special they would be.
Meri Jaan is the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me.
And I can confidently say that for every broken heart that came before, there’s no ghosts of Christmas past haunting me anymore.
Speaking of which, if you haven’t yet, you should definitely check out Mickey’s Christmas Carol.

The movie is Disney’s cartoon adaptation of Charles Dickens’s novella A Christmas Carol. It’s sweet and lovely and as most Disney films are it’s a child-friendly tale with much worldly morals embedded inside. (Definitely expect more about Disney films and life lessons to come to MML.)
And apart from watching this adorable film, this Christmas, I ask everyone to take a moment to close their eyes and think of that someone special if you have one and if not to think of all the other special people in your lives. Family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, whoever it is that brings a smile to your face, that makes every moment worth it. And give them a call or a text, say “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays” or just “Hey, how’s it going?” Check in and let them know that you’re thinking about them.
Instead of reminiscing about all the broken hearts like last Christmas, here’s my all-time favorite Christmas song that I’ll be thinking of instead.
This one’s for you, Meri Jaan:
