To Take a Chance

We talked about choices; Now, let’s talk about chances.

How do we know we made the right choice? I mean, how do we really know? That fear looms in the back out our head: In a day, in a year, in ten years, we could suddenly realize we did it all wrong. We want to go back, change it, choose something else, someone else. But it’s too late. Now what?

The truth is, we can never know.

All we can do is trust our instincts, trust ourselves to make the best choice, and then actually make it. And only we know what’s best for ourselves. We can listen to the advice of many, but ultimately, it’s up to us to implement it.

Especially when it comes to love.

Whether you pray, or hope, or knock on wood to ward off jinxes, that’s all you can do. And you can live.

Live to the fullest, love honestly, and be happy. What else are you gonna do in such a short life? Because even living a hundred years won’t make up for not taking a chance. Of wondering “what if…”.

“What if he was the one?” “What if she felt the same?” “What if we could’ve made it?” If only I had tried and taken a chance.

In ten years, I want my biggest regret to be “I wish it had worked”, not “I wish I had tried.”
