God, I wish I could tell you about my last twenty-four hours.

But I can’t.

I won’t.

Actually, I don’t wanna.

In creative writing classes and workshops, I’ve heard:

Which is why this is probably one of the most exhilerating stories I get to (not) tell.

I can’t tell you about why I left. I can’t tell you about why I’m coming back.

I can’t tell you about the hows or the whos.

I can’t tell you about what made yesterday amazing. And today kinda… weird. With a little bit of amazing still sprinkled in.

But I’ve learned a couple of things in the last twenty-four hours.

1. With the right person, all those things that used to annoy you, all those things that used to frustrate me, they don’t feel like the end of the world… Instead, even when life gets a little out of hand, I trust that everything will work out okay. It’s because of their energy. Because somehow no matter what, they seem to be maintaining that balance of freaking out amd in denial. Which is pretty much perfect for me.

2. While there’s a lot of unknowns of what’s to come, I’ve learned that since life is a constant loop of crazy, I don’t have to worry about the potential bad crazies of tomorrow when I’m perfectly happy with the good crazies of today.

3. I might love love and romance, but I’m very much capable of figuring out life as it comes on my own. And I prefer it this way. I just needed a chance to prove it to myself.

Being in a relationship doesn’t mean you constantly depend on someone. Mutual dependability means that you can depend on one other to stick around through the highs and lows. But that doesn’t mean you become co-dependent. In fact, I believe it means the exact opposite. It means that when life does throw you into the bad kinda crazy, you figure out next steps, push forward, and don’t let everything come crumbling down even if it means you’re temporarily being pulled in physical opposite directions.

And to commemorate this epiphany, here’s a song that I’ve been listening to on repeat recently:
