Have You Heard SPKZ & k1FS’s “Shots at Midnight”?

I think I’ve listened to this song almost fifteen times already today.

Ten in the last hour…

Right on time for Valentine’s Day, the best love song I’ve heard in a minute, “Shots at Midnight” has been released by SPKZ ft. k1FS. Give it a listen by clicking here.

This is the original cover art for the song created by K1FS himself.
I do NOT intend any copyright infringement on this image.

Some day soon these dazzling men will be at the top of the pop charts for sure. And I’m hoping for more and more amazing music from them.

Music that I can dance to, listen to, smile to, daydream to. And play on the radio in the car. It gives me that ‘let’s go on vacation in a convertible with the top down’ vibe.

I’ve probably said it enough times before but I’ll say it again – life needs a soundtrack. Something to accompany the mundane day to day and the unexpected adventures that come our way.

And today (and probably for a good few days to come since I’m obsessive like that), “Shots at Midnight” is my top choice on my personal soundtrack.

And here are some other songs that are on my mind today:

  1. Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” (Ugh, I wish I could shake it lose but I can’t since Thursday night! Help!)
  2. Conan Gray’s “Maniac” (Part of the same story as “Sorry” that I’ll let you know when I’m ready to let you know.)
  3. Selena Gomez’s “I Love You Like A Love Song” (Not the most epic song in the world, but it played in my mind this morning on “re-pea-pea-pea-peat” just like the song says.)
  4. Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar’s “Coca Cola Tu“ (Had it stuck in my mind since earlier today and lo and behold, it was the first song I saw when I opened my Gaana app about two hours ago.)
  5. Arijit Singh’s “Pachtaoge” (The cover of the song… his face, my god… Vicky Kaushal, at just the right angle… ah! Okay, moving on…)
  6. Jaspreet Jasz and Sunita’s “Kanyakumari” (Came on autoplay the other day and I just keep playing it.)
  7. Hariharan and K.S. Chitra’s “Reppalapai” (Same album as No. 6. Same reason.)
  8. Sri Krishna and Harini’s “Nestama Nestama” (same album as No. 6+7. 6+7 came on autoplay after I played this song. It was the song that was playing as I read his first journal entry. What do I call him? My Almost Fiancé. Almost. Considering we’re not together now.)

Each one of these songs holds a different feeling, a different memory, a different fantasy, a different reality. It’s amazing how the distinct combinations of melodies, beats, rhythms, and lyrics can invoke a variety of these.

And some of them hold plenty of drama in their midst.

“Shots at Midnight” is a feel-good song that is new and does not disappoint. So far, it’s the best song I can listen to today. In the spirit of making new memories, dreaming new dreams, and creating new desires.

And imagining new lovers in my bed every other night. But let’s keep that one between you and me. Shh…
